About

I’m Maya Vega Garcia, founder of Golden Hour Leather & Canvas.
I trained as a tailor in Hamburg, Germany, and began my career in menswear and costume design before moving to California, where I focused on furniture upholstery and material craft. That work eventually led me north to Port Townsend, where I specialize in upholstery for traditional motor and sailing yachts. When the right project comes along, I also take on special work such as leather-driven mid-century furniture restorations, other material-focused commissions, and one-on-one consultations for furniture makers.

From my studio, I craft leather and canvas goods with the same steady care and intention — built to last and made to be used.
